farming in the midwest united states is an integral part of life for many. i was fortunate to grow up in close proximity to this industry, given my dad's side of the family are dairy farmers. i was raised beside calves, growing up as the animals and crops grew beside me.

below are images from just one afternoon on the farm, in the spring of 2023, during afternoon chores. you can observe the machines used to milk the cows, a physical testament to the constant development and increased use of technology in a practice thousands of years old.
